Birthday parities provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the life of your child. Children love to gather with all of their best friends and play games, watch movies, and eat delicious food. To thank all the kids for being such great friends to your child, you may want to consider giving out birthday favor gifts. Here are some options on how to plan a great birthday party and offer some wonderful birthday favors to their friends:
Tip # 1 – Theme
The easiest way to find some great birthday favor ideas is to opt for a birthday theme. Maybe your child has a particular superhero they love or a movie that is popular. Whatever it may be, ask your child what birthday theme they want and then do your best to make this theme come to life. Give yourself plenty of time to plan out the entire party especially if your child wants to do a theme that requires you to shop for party favors online. Themes are nice, but they can also limit your creativity for the party as you are basically forced to stick to the same decorations that have already been manufactured instead of coming up with your own. If your child picks a difficult theme, try to find wrapping paper that has the theme on it. You can use the wrapping paper to cover the exterior of the birthday favor boxes so they match the theme and stand out.
Tip # 2 – Invitations
Since you are doing a themed party, make sure the birthday favor ideas match the invitations. Lets say for example that you are doing a princess theme party. The invitation may say something like “a royal invite from…” and then include the information. The birthday favor should be given in a box or bag that has a cute note on the inside that says things like “your royal inheritance” or something clever. Give each guest their own paper crown so they also have cute crowns to wear. You can find plastic crowns from novelty stores as well and they are a lot of fun to add to the birthday favor bags.
Tip # 3 – Decorations
You don’t need to go extreme with the decorations but it is fun to add some to the house. Look for a happy birthday sign or get a bouquet of balloons that says “happy birthday”. Kids always love helium balloons; just monitor them when they are using the helium to sound like chipmunks! The decorations like the party favors need to go hand in hand. A themed party is all about keeping unity and the theme in mind at all times. If you don’t want to go out and purchase the decorations that have been designed specifically for that theme, opt for some streamers and then create your own decorations that mirror the theme. Let’s say your child really wants to have an “Avatar” theme for their birthday party. The decorations you use should include blue balloons as they can represent the Na’vi culture and their unique blue skin. For the party favors, opt for blue boxes or plastic bags and include some fun toys inside that are from the movie like bows and arrows. Even though they are not the toys and decorations from the movie line, the children will use their own creativity and imaginations to do the rest for you.
Tip # 4 – Games
Perhaps one of the best parts of the entire party is the game time. It’s always a joy to watch kids laughing and having a fun time. Look for some fun games like Twister and Catch Phrase. Include some games in the party favor bags as you can find card games and miniature board games for $1 or less.
